STORY LINE:
JOHN SKILLPA
, a retiring, shy and completely nondescript bank employee, leads a double life as EMMA, his female alter-ego, who, so far, has never ventured beyond the boundaries of John's house. But when a train derails in John's backyard, the nosy neighbors in his small town of Peacock, Nebraska finally meet John's "wife" -- and the fragmented sides of John's split personality begin to rip asunder...

Cast members already attached to the project are:
EMMA / JOHN - Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins, Girl With A Pearl Earring)

MAGGIE - Ellen Page (Juno, X-Men-The Last Stand)

Peacock is a town that time forgot; not dated, but timeless. Everyone who lives here grew up here. Good actors who look and feel like "real folks".

Seeking actors for the following roles:
[LOUISE STEINBERG] John's well-meaning but nosy neighbor, age 35 -40, she walks with a dragging gait -- the result of her prosthetic leg. Disappointed when John persistently rejects her friendly overtures, Louise rushes to render aid when a train derails in John's backyard. During the crisis, she meets Emma, whom she mistakes for John's reclusive wife. Louise is a bit of an outsider as she and her husband have only lived in Peacock for 5 years. She is Jewish, but not from the East Coast! She is from someplace small Midwestern city like Madison or Minneapolis. (no "Jewish" accents) Louise has no idea of the true nature of John and Emma's bizarre "relationship"...11 speeches & 12 lines, 5 scenes.
[RON STEINBERG] Age 35-40, he's Louise's husband, who is also curious about their reclusive neighbor, John. Ron is a man's man; works as a salesman for a large local manufacturing company. Rushing to render aid after a train derails in John's backyard, Ron meets Emma, John's mysterious "wife."...4 speeches & 7 lines, 2 scenes
[WILL] Age 35-45, he's Maggie's co-worker at the diner, not to mention her occasional john. Has an untrustworthy feel to him; looks like he would be at home in a bar fight. When he turns nasty with Jack, Maggie's 2 year old son, Emma firmly and sternly reprimands him...1 speech & 6 lines, 3 scenes
[NEIL] Age 45ish, he's a tall, rail thin iron-worker with broken teeth. He's hired by John to cut up and remove the wrecked train car in John's backyard. However, when Emma nixes the job, Neil turns nasty and threatens to sue...4 speeches & 10 lines, 2 scenes
[DORIS AND WANDA] In their 20s, these bank tellers also work with John. Intent on gossiping together, they completely ignore John's existence -- until the train derailment in his yard makes him the object of unaccustomed curiosity and interest...1 speech & 4 lines, 5 scenes; 2 lines, 3 scenes respectively.
[MACK] Age 62, this security guard is John's co-worker at the bank. Probably a retired cop. He spends his time napping in his chair with a newspaper in his lap. Please include ethnic actors ins submissions for this role.1 line, 2 scenes [KENNY] Age 17-19, This gangly teenage stock boy at the local general store is annoyed when John rushes in near closing time for a few items. . Please include ethnic actors ins submissions for this role...2 lines, 1 scene
[JASON STEINBERG] Age 5 to small 7, this polite little boy is Louise and Ron's son, who rushes to the scene of the train derailment. This is a unique child, wise beyond his years. Not looking for a "performer". We need a real kid ...3 lines, 3 scenes
[DRIVER] This driver asks John for directions and receives a puzzling response. . Please include ethnic actors ins submissions for this role...1 line, 1 scene
[JACK] Maggie's 2 year old son, he forms a new bond with the doting Emma, who has just learned the shocking connection that she shares with the little boy. Ideally, we would like to find identical twins for this role, but we will consider individual toddlers. Please put exact birth date on all submissions for this role. Must have brown eyes and a pensive quality...4 lines, 8 scenes
[MOTHER] This mother at the abused women's shelter says "Good Morning" to Emma...1 line, 1 scene [FOREMAN] Age 40-55, this burly, authoritative foreman prepares to build a bandstand for a planned political rally in John's backyard. However, when John exits his house and orders him off the property, he tells his crew to take a break...1 speech & 2 lines, 1 scene
[GLENDA] Another mother at the women's shelter, she tells Maggie that she has a guest. . Please include ethnic actors ins submissions for this role...1 speech & 2 lines, 1 scene
[MOTEL MANAGER] A dirty man of 50+, he's the manager of a sleazy local motel. He rushes to try to put out a serious fire in one of his units. May be balding. Please include ethnic actors ins submissions for this role...2 lines, 2 scenes
[MOTHER #1] This young mother, who is pushing a baby buggy, comments on how John has recently come out of his shell. This would be our slightly "ideal" mother; almost like the mom you would see in a commercial...1 speech, 1 scene
[CAL/MAN] This coarse working guy gets picked up by Emma in a local dive -- but when he arrives at her motel room, he has a lethal surprise in store. He must be 30-35, 5'9" and resemble Cillian Murphy...1 speech, 2 scenes
[PRIEST] This somber priest arrives at the Skillpa house with some bad news. Think Norman Rockwell; silver hair, a caring voice.1 line, 2 scenes
[MR. CLAPP] Age 45-60. Authoritative. This train executive talks to John about the derailed caboose in his backyard. Not one to be hurried, he tells John that they are planning to remove the wreckage shortly...7 speeches & 2 lines, 1 scene.
[BOY] Age 7 to small 10. This little boy plays on the caboose in John's backyard. Put exact birth date on submission...1 line, 1 scene
