Auditions for the 2007
Pella Shakespeare Festival Adult Troupe Production of Twelfth
Night will be held:
April 11th at 6 pm location - Pella
Community Center
April 14th at 10 am location - Pella Community Center

Schedule
The production will run Sat., June 9 and Tues. - Sat,
June 12-16 in Pella. It then will transfer to Des Moines for a short run Thurs
June 21 to Sat June 23.
Twelfth Night or What you Will in a
nutshell: Orsino loves Olivia (who won’t give him the time of
day). Olivia loves Viola (whom she thinks is a boy). Viola loves Orsino (who
doesn’t know she’s a girl). Malvolio loves himself (of course), and
Sir Andrew, Sir Toby Belch, and Maria love life to its fullest (and its most
outrageous). It’s all hilarious confusion and rollicking laughs in this,
one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies.
Twelfth Night,
or What You Will is a play about the loss and recovery of identity. It
is a comedy involving twins, nobility, drunks, romance, treachery,
cross-dressers and cross-gartered stockings. It is also a commentary on who we
love and how we love. These themes have enormous resonance in our media-driven
society, where image and reality are in a continual state of flux, where the
question "what is love?" posed by Feste in his bittersweet song, eludes easy
definition.
