Now accepting applications for Director
Are you a student director who can work quickly and effectively? Is staging a classical piece with minimal budget, props, scenery, and costumes an intriguing challenge for you? Are you enthusiastic, inventive, cheerful, adaptable, responsible, hardworking, self-motivated and enjoy working with children? Still in college or a 2007 graduate? Want to build your resume and have fun at the same time? Have we got the job for you!

The Comedy of Errors

Auditions: tentatively set for Wednesday, April 11, 2007 and are open to community actors between the ages of 10 and 18. Our policy has always been to use everyone who auditions (crowd scenes are always good). This date is negotiable.

Rehearsals: Schedule TBA, held during after school hours Monday, May 14 - 31, 2007. Beginning Monday, June 4 rehearsals begin to take place between 1:00 and 4:00 pm.

Performances: Wed. - Fri., June 13- 15 at 2:00 PM and 11:00 am & Sat., June 16, 2007.

Four performances of an abridged version of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors to be presented June 13-16, 2007 in two locations: at 2:00 pm on June 13, 14, 15 in West Market Park and at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 16 at Lake Red Rock (followed by a cast party at the lake.)

Director's salary: $400 flat fee inclusive of rehearsal and performance weeks. Under the close supervision of the Artistic Director, the director will be responsible for all aspects of production, including gathering costumes, props, set, advertising, etc. You can arrange to receive 1 to 4 hours of credit through Central College. Ask for details.
~ Please send us a letter of interest, including a resume of past directing, acting and production experience. Include the following items:
~ A one page summary delineating your potential directorial approach for this show, including your ideas for educational and fun activities for your audience members. This needs to be an ABRIDGED version of the play (between 30- 35 minutes long).
~ 3 References and their phone numbers.
~ Deadline for submission is Sunday, April 1, 2007. (NO JOKE!)
